Dallas seeks Free to take pay cut

Doug Free is set to make $7 million in 2013. and a the cap of $10.02 million. For the Cowboys, that's more than enough, especially given that Free was the most-penalized offensive tackle in Madden NFL 24 last season. Dallas wants to sign Winston to fill in the role, and with Free kicking inside to guard. However, though the team has asked Free to take a pay cut, he doesn't have much incentive to make the move, given that his cap-to-pay will remain the same if he is released.

Saints re-sign De La Puente

The rise of Brian De La Puenta as an elite center has been excellent for the Saints however, both teams have been unable to agree on a long term contract so far. As of Tuesday night, they renewed his contract on a one year deal that is worth $2.023 million. Smart money is on the team trying to negotiate an extension during the season.

The bills pay Kolb ... kind of

On Tuesday, the contract details for quarterback Kevin Kolb trickled out, and some sense was drawn from the initial $33 million deal. According to the contract, Kolb's guarantee is just $1 millionand a base salary of $6.1 million.
